Who We Are

Grovely Parish is a part of the Anglican Diocese of Brisbane, which is headed by Archbishop Phillip Aspinall. The Parish is comprised of the people and churches of St Matthew's, Mitchelton and All Saints, Arana Hills.

Parish Priest - the Reverend Jan Crombie

Welcome to the webpage of the Grovely Anglican parish, and we invite you to browse through this avenue of "connecting communication". I guess it gives a virtual reality glimpse into something of who we are, and why we exist together.

One always wonders where the real reality is of anything; we as a community would have to say what is real is who we know and how we are together. In other words, relationships are the real thing of life. For a Christian community, the beginning relationship is with Jesus Christ. But in that reality is the realisation of exploring, rather than knowing; of stumbling and not seeming to get anywhere rather than brilliant awareness of the meaning of life; of seeking something for ‘me' and finding a shared journey.  In my four years with this faith community I have experienced all those realities, and I have learnt that we can trust the life journey together.

Jesus Christ, prophet, teacher, radical stirrer, son of parents, son of God, brother, friend, leader of disciples ... had and has many relationships with so many people. It begins with a turning in us towards his invitation, his simple invitation, to "Come and see". From that, our experience is a journey of great and true reality.

Please connect with us with any questions through the contact opportunities.

With blessings on you and yours, Rev'd. Jan
