WHAT WE ARE DOING AS A PARISH SINCE RECEIVING ANGLIGREENS ENVIRONMENTAL AUDITS
GARDENS AND GROUNDS
- Water tanks installed

Removing weeds and plants that endanger the environment
- Choosing drought tolerant plants and mulching deeply
- Planting local native plants
- Garden beds allocated to individual families
THE PARISH WILL CONSIDER IN THE FUTURE
- Developing a garden walk/labyrinth
- Including children in caring for the grounds
- Encouraging more car pooling
- Developing plaques about wildlife in the grounds
WORSHIP
- The parish conducts services on ecospirituality
- Lessons about caring for creation are presented to children
- Trees/shrubs/garden seats are used to celebrate special events
- Environmental issues/creation are included in sermons
- Symbols of creation appear on church banners/vestments
- Environmental information is included in the pew bulletin and is on display
- Some liturgies are held outside
THE PARISH WILL CONSIDER IN THE FUTURE
- Having access to books on nature, creation and ecospirituality
FELLOWSHIP HOSPITALITY AND OUTREACH
- The parish has a policy on the use of disposable plates, cups and cutlery
- Reusable cups, plates and cutlery are used as first choice. Dishes are washed by hand
- Community grant received for environmental activity (water tanks)
- Recycle batteries and ink cartridges
- The parish is replacing light bulbs with energy efficient ones
- Electronic equipment is turned off at the wall to save residual power
- Lights and fans are turned off when not in use
- Outside lights are on a timer
- Trees have been planted to give shade to buildings
- Print double sided/use recycled paper
- Recycling bins are visible and accessible
- Reusable bags are used for shopping

- Using biodegradable cleaning products
- Choosing appliances with a high energy and water efficiency rating
- Developing a policy on energy and water use
- Buying fair trade products
- Switching to green power
- ‘Reverse the effect' for parish car
